Policies and Procedures

  1. Mail and Parcel Pickups
Campus Mail collects mail and parcels from a designated mailroom in each department between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Please note that we do not pick up from individual offices.
  2. Pickup and Delivery Frequency
Campus Mail provides daily service to departments that rely on mail as an essential function. Other departments receive service based on a scheduled frequency, determined by volume and specific needs. To arrange your pickup schedule, please contact the Campus Mail support team.
Occasionally, due to operational constraints, a scheduled pickup may need to be postponed to the following business day. In such cases, our team will make every effort to maintain service consistency.
  3. Special Pickup Requests
If you require a pickup outside your department’s scheduled time, please contact our on-campus courier service at 604-822-9495 or email campus.mail@ubc.ca. We’ll do our best to accommodate your request.
  4. Outbound Mail Requirements
  • A Worktag must be set up in advance to use our courier service for outgoing mail and parcels.
  • All parcels must be clearly labeled with the recipient’s full address and contact information. Campus Mail is not responsible for delivery issues caused by incomplete or incorrect addressing.
  1. Delivery Times and Responsibility
Campus Mail dispatches items according to the instructions provided. However, we are not responsible for delays caused by carriers, customs, or delivery personnel. Please allow sufficient time for delivery—international surface mail may take 4–6 weeks.
  2. Restricted Items
We are unable to process perishable goods, dangerous goods, furniture, or oversized packages. If you’re unsure whether your item qualifies, please contact us for guidance.
  3. Weight and Size Restrictions
Campus Mail handles mail and small to medium-sized parcels only. Pickups exceeding 23 kg per stop may be restricted.
If you are sending more than three boxes, please coordinate with the Moving Crew in UBC Facilities. View Moving Crew details here.
  4. Personal Items Service
Individuals may ship personal items through Campus Mail by visiting the front desk at the UBC Bookstore. Only credit card payments are accepted—no other payment methods are available.
