Central Receiving

Central receiving overview

Central Receiving and Mail Services (CRMS) acts as a central receiver for the majority of goods entering the UBC Okanagan Campus. This typically includes all items ordered through a UBC Purchase Order by UBC Payment and Procurement Services. This provides a benefit to all departments on campus as we will ensure someone is always available to receive your shipment. We also have a loading bay that is capable of receiving items that other buildings on campus may not be able to receive easily.

We assign internal tracking numbers to all incoming shipments, notify recipients by email that items have been received and how they are being handled, and ensure items are handled appropriately prior to pick up or delivery. These notification emails will also include requests for instructions if an item is perishable or dangerous and it is unclear how it is to be handled. Your item(s) will generally be delivered to you during the following business day’s mail run, or we will hold larger (or perishable) items and request that you arrange for pick up and transportation to your unit.

Please note that the services of CRMS are for University business only. Personal items that are not for UBC use should not be delivered to the University.
